Lights on the Lake

Lights on the Lake is one of Wichita’s premiere holiday lighting events. Not only can visitors enjoy the light show, but on the weekends, they can visit the Hospitality Center to visit Santa and have a warm drink. All proceeds from this event benefit the children of Heartspring.
The website features the Candy Cane Crusade which allows donors to purchase virtual candy canes on behalf of someone else. Their purchase is displayed on a candy cane wall along with a link to a personalized E-Card with their name and message. I was responsible for automating this process as well as converting the E-Cards (formerly PDFs) into dynamic web pages.

Heartspring PedalFest

PedalFest is an annual biking event to benefit children with autism in Wichita, KS that is sponsored by Heartspring. Through the website, users can register for their very own fundraising page that allows them to track & receive online pledges via PayPal, upload photos, and join teams.
This site was built using Joomla and Community Builder as it’s basis. The registration process and a large portion of the Fundraising Pages are custom. It was very much based on the CARE Walk site done earlier in the year with a few upgrades.

The “Dexter” Library

The Dexter Library is an episode guide for the Showtime series Dexter that also contains character bios, novel summaries, and news.
This website was created as a final project for and XML class, and a large portion of it has been built using a combination of XML, XSL, and CSS. Most pages use Ajax menus, and the homepage features a custom RSS feed as well as links to several other related feeds.
